Over the past few weeks, I have started reading Teaching Arguments by Jennifer Fletcher. From the beginning of the book I was drawn-in from the connections I have been able to make to the instructional practices of some of my own teachers. My World Literature professor based his entire class on the concept of "liminality."

A great point...how will what I am teaching your today help you in the future? Making those lessons relevant help! Reading and writing with an eye toward developing critical inquiry is powerful for students. I am glad that you are seeing the connections.

I am reading the same book and I love it! My professor for world literature also based his classes on the idea of Liminality (I wonder if we had the same instructor? Christian Beck?) Knowing the idea of Liminality definitely helped give a concrete foundation to work with through the first 4 chapters of this book. I also really enjoy the ideals you present in the last paragraph.
